Warren, MI – Kent-Moore has issued the new J-45023 Allison Transmission Oil Filter Wrench to correctly handle filter replacement. The Allison LCT 1000/2000/2400 transmissions found in several new GM trucks feature a uniquely designed spin-on replacement filter. This filter can properly handle the transmission operation of very high fluid pressure at idle (125 psi) plus it utilizes a new 12-flute edge design. Due to the high operating pressure of the Allison transmission, replaceable service filters MUST be tightened to 360 degrees past initial contact to prevent leaks. Conventional filter installation tools do not match this new design and strap or band tools will commonly slip and/or offer a high degree of failure by crushing the filter body.
